So pleased I didnt give into the Muzzell idea,Ben hasnt gone for another dog since.
I did keep him away from other Dogs for a while, then came out off a Tesco's Express to find him happily sitting next to a Black Lab .
I still keep a close look out for the warning signs,he still dosent like youngsters pawing him
As you know the insident happened while he was out with my Husband,so I really didnt know what sparked it off.
But you wouldnt believe how devoted and obedient he is with Peter now when we are all out he will ignore me and do everything Pete tells him!
And this is a Dog that came to us 3years ago scared to death of men! He didnt go near Peter for months!!Its lovely to see the bond the 2 off them have! _________________ Jean & Ben |

That's lovely to hear, Jean - so glad Ben is doing well.
It really should help him if you keep an eye out for him and don't let other dogs annoy and upset him. For a dog to put his head or paw over the other's shoulders, or mount, is incredibly challenging and rude - even if they only to mean to play. The rude dog might play like that and rough-house with a best buddy, but not a stranger dog - and of course, he may not be playing at all! My Dexter certainly isn't when he puts his paw on another dog
If it were our child, we wouldn't put up with another yobbo kid pushing and shoving our child around until he or she cried or lost their temper
Hope things continue to go well |

Well it was going well ,Just started a change of plan!we are using a 14meter training lead when out in open spaces. That way I can rein him back if need be!
I trying now to walk him where he will see other dogs instead of keeping away, hope he gets more socialized that way.
The trouble is if we stick to the woods Ben dosent get to see another dog very often, then if we suddenly come across one he decks them!
So now its a long lead and loads of dogs! _________________ Jean & Ben |

aww shame we aren't nearer - my Willow would be a perfect stooge dog. She was fabulous with my friend's fear agressive GSD. Star did her very best to provoke a reaction from Willow and when she didn't get one, she was most confused and within an hour, walked happily side by side with her.
She is using a Click to Calm concept with Star - look it up - Star was attacked at about 2 years old and she just gets in there first with most dogs - it's all about using a Clicker to reward for 'calm' behaviour - but is done in conjunction with a diet specially for Star and a program of introducing her gradually to certain situations. She is doing really well Jean so worthy of a look up _________________ Lisa - Mum to Willow (LRRSE girl) and Finn and Alfie xx |
