WHERE DOES TIME FLY TO??
I can't believe that our two babies are now 9 and 4 years old, especially the little one as she still thinks she's a puppy. I have not been as available as I should have been of late due to illnesses and all I can say is that my beloved dogs keep me sane at times. They know exactly how my day is going to pan out even before I do. We go for a morning trot after which Mummy has to have a lie-down but they both have a yummy kong to keep them busy until lunchtime. Then Nonny comes home and has lunch followed by a trot in the park with out girls. Once home, we play gentle games of hide the toy which doesn't take it out of me and they then snuggle up to me on the sofa and we read together. If I'm up to it I'll go for the evening trot before supper for all and then Nonny spends an hour playing rough with them. Thankfully, our neighbour is used to hearing mega growling noises and not just from the dogs. Her cat comes to visit me too and they lie with him and with me on the sofa. He's being neutered next week so he'll be visiting for after care from his friends. Before getting Rosie all those years ago it now seems, I never thought I'd appreciate how loving and in love I would fall with these two beauties who make my life worth living. Cathy.

Hi cathy Firstly, i hope you're on the mend and with such loving animals by your side it must be some comfort to you. It is very odd how they pick up on the way your feeling and administer love/licks/hugs as needed. Hope you feeling much better soon. Love Anita

Time flies
Thanks Anita- I used to think I was so macho about having cancer and told people I was always fine until my la-*test*-('") bout when I realise that people are marvellous in knowing when you need space and when you need them. I am a hugely lucky person who has beaten the beggar for quite a few years now and right now I'm no ready to give up yet. My dogs are my saviours and I only thank my neighbour for introducing her Ruby to my partner who was dog phobic. Ruby is a black Lab but purchased from a good breeder and I'd never heard of rescues. We'd looked at buying a Lab but couldn't afford the hundreds involved at the time. LRRSE saved the day and brought us our humungously huge first Rosie who has lost mega K's and maintains her sveltness to this day. At nine though she has terrible arthritis but she goes to hydrotherapy and has medication as well as supplements. if only I'd known all those years ago how much dogs do cost financially I may have thought again but hey, right now I'd give everything for them. Lucy came to us from a breeder in sad shape at 3 months. She's what we call a failed foster as we couldn't give her away once she'd bonded with us and Rosie...years go by but they are my pride and joy and I have a partner who oohs and aahs over dogs in the park as well as bringing ours to the childrens centre where she works for PAT time for the learning disabled. I've rabbited on a bit but thank you again for your kind words. Our rescue has saved so many doggie lives and will continue to do so as long as there are needs. Cathy x

It's wonderful to hear how much joy and comfort your dogs are bringing you, Cathy. I too hope that you are on the mend, with your little family of animals helping to keep your spirits up. I've got a failed foster too and there's nothing quite like the feeling when she snuggles up with me on the sofa with her 'arms' round me and gives a big sigh and goes to sleep. Of course, it's not always idyllic - she also nudges, snores and sticks her bony elbows in! I love the way that dogs know just how you are feeling and instinctively do the right thing :) - and cats too, of course. I have a horse and even he seems to know if I'm not not my usual self. Wishing you all the very best and hope you feel better very soon Elaine
