Puppies for sale?
I've just been to Devon and saw Lab puppies advertised in the Herald Express. I phoned a couple of them and went along to visit, purportedly with a view to buying...choke! I was pleasantly surprised as both homes had just the one Mum and Dad with little bundles of happiness tootling around the place. Both homes also demanded that I fill in loads of forms and have a thorough home check. I had to 'fess up as they were not puppy farmers. Apparently with both homes and I realised later that the owners were related, the Mum only has one litter and is then either rehomed at 18 months after spaying and they keep a sturdy puppy for next year. I went to a third home and although this was the bitches second litter they weren't planning on breeding from her anymore and just spaying her and having her as family. My girls enjoyed the sea, sand, seaweed, other friends they made and the freedom of the parks. I only went out with them once and we went to Dartmoor where they stayed on leads as there were a lot of sheep about as well as ponies. People talk about their dogs being shot by farmers but I feel that then one goes to the country we obey the laws. Worrying sheep can cause any amount of problems and it's no good crying if you don't obey them. Cathy
