my piggy lab!!!
can anyone tell me why my lab would want to eat my cats pooh!! ive heard its because he may have a defisency of some sort, anyone no???

I think that is just an old wives tale! All of my dogs have eaten all manor of poo! I'm afraid they are just dirty old toads! If they can't eat it, they roll in it! I belong to another dog site and someone else posted about this problem and everyone that posted a response either had a dog or knew a dog that did this too!

Re: my piggy lab!!!
My two girls eat cat poo and it isn't down to any deficiency as they are fed a varied Barf diet. They just like it  How ever my Oldie we lost a few years ago always ate her own poo ( if she was given the chance if we hadn't done poo patrol)Because the food went through her so quickly it meant she wasn't getting all the nutrients. (Nature Diet). She ate the poo as a way of getting the nutrients she missed the first time. My two given the chance will eat horse poo and one of the favourites is rabbit poo which must be the doggie equivalent to chocolate raisins :P So long as there are regularily wormed I don't mind if they have an occasional snack but do always use the leave command when their heads go down

Yes he is regularly wormed. But he has been poorly for the past 6 weeks, coughing up a flem like substance of which contains food... they treated him for bronchitis but wasnt that, then another saw him whilst i was on my hols and he took biopsys of lumps he has and they come back inconclusive but my vet says they are simple lypomas and to leave them which is what im doing... he has continued to cough this stuff up and has since been given anti antacids, not doing any good either... so its back tomorrow to the vets and it looks like its an x-ray and they talk of an endoscapy.....scary. he is fine in himself and goes to toilet ok its strange.
