I dont have a lab
This is me taken last year at the Fun Dog Show at Haring Dogs for Deaf People. I voluntered for the day. I am a lady in my 40s been dog potty since before I can even remember. I live in High Wycombe and have four dogs and a cat sharing my life aswell as an OH, a 17 yr old daughter who lives at home and a 20yr old daughter who lives in Harrow but spends most of her week here to look after the dogs since I started full time work in January. This is Rio. She is an Estrela and about 12 now. She is not a good example of the breed other than in her mind set  12 is a good age for an Estrela. She is my soulmate and referred to affectionately as Bear. She is very hairy. I got her through breed rescue when she was 6. Then there is Mr Trevor. He will be 5 in November and has been with me for 4 years now. I guess he is of Terrier/Whippet/Collie origins but I refer to him as a Bitsa. He was a Battersea Dogs Home puppy selected by Hearing Dogs. He is one of their Fallen Angels. He didnt make the grade to be a Hearing Dog because he was vey reactive on lead, reactive to external stimuli and would kill you rather than have his nails cut. He is my clever boy. I have taught him freestyle moves, to pick up things I drop and to unload the washing machine and tumble dryer for me. This pic was taken by Tim Rose photographer for Dogs Today magazine at a shoot we did last year. Byron is 8. He has been here nearly 2 years. I am so lucky to have him as he suffered with bloat and full torsion back in April this year. Then there is Boris. He is 3 and has been with me since September last year. He is Mr Nice But Dim and referred to as Bish Bosh or Bish here at home. He barks when he is worried. This is Summer also known as The Pretty Kitty. She was 7 in June. I started working for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People in January after 5 years being a volunter for them in many capacities. I was a puppy socialiser, speaker and dog walker. I am a one to one dog trainer and I take on some behaviour work too. I run a pet dog training club in South Harrow on a Monday evening and occasional workshops on clicker training. I have been a fosterer and worked with deaf dogs. I still do homechecks and dog assesments for rescues when I can. I assist and run doggie events to benefit dog charities.

what a stunning bunch - no-one will mind here if they're not labs  Was Mr Trevor on the cover of Dogs Today? - that pic looks familiar. Maybe it;s just the photography style, but I feel I've seen that lovely cheeky face! wow, four dogs! I always think my three is probably one too many - although I love them all dearly. But I've got 3 cats and 3 horses too. When I get up in the morning it feels like the whole world is wanting food and attention

Hii Karen.....thanks for the lovely pics and for all your help on Saturday. You can now add snapshot photorapher and all round general helper to your list of jobs  We certainly couldnt have done without you on Saturday. Mr Trevor is an absolute sweetie despite trying to surf over the top of everything piled up in my car  and I have fallen in love again with Boris. If I didnt have two labs already I would find room for a Great Dane  Se you soon JUne

Super pictures Karen, of your lovely dogs. And I join June in saying thanks a million for your help at the weekend - it was good to have you there. And thanks to all you other helpers too - we made a great team and had an enjoyable and successful day. And the dogs did us proud! As they always do.

Hi Karen Nice to see you here. I met you at the show on Saturday, helping in the tent. Your piccies of you bunch are lovely, I now know what an Estrela looks like, not too far removed from a Leonburger? I am very jealous that you have two great danes, I would love just the one :) A good time was enjoyed by me, and Guinness, I think he managed to make a few new friends. Sue
