Hi, I'm new here & saying hello!
Hi Just saying hello & that I'm looking forward to chatting with you. I haven't got a dog yet but home visitor has just been & accepted us for one - hooray! :D I was brought up with dogs & just 6 weeks ago I lost my beautiful Tulsa who I had from 11 weeks til she passed at age 14yrs. I didn't realise how overwhelming the grief would be nor how empty our house would feel without a canine friend to share it with. I can't wait for Karen to ring me saying that she has a black lab for us & can she bring it over? Bring it over - course she can & by the way, can you get here like NOW! Anyway, just posting this has brought the tears on again so I'm off to have a sob & a cup of coffee. Speak with you all soon. Kathy

Hi kathy Hope you get your new dog soon and that you are very happy together. I can't resist a shiny black dog...or cat, or horse!!! I am always amazed when occasioanlly I read magazine articles saying that black dogs are harder to rehome. ohhhh, not to me!!! I love all dogs, but I realised exactly where my heart lay a couple of months ago when I wandered round Wood Green Animal Shelter, while there on a behaviour seminar. All those poor dogs needing homes were lovely, but time after time i stopped at the black ones - didn't matter if they were labby types, shepherd typers, staffie types.... it's just something about them  Elaine

Well, Alfie has arrived! Gorgeous black boy of 3 and a half & boy, do we know we've got him! He thinks my cats are game for chasing so he loves it - cats hate it! We are just absolutely delighted to have him & he seems equally delighted to be here. :D How do I get pics and atavars on here? :?:

Hows Alfie doing?

Kathy- 11-03-2006

Hi Jean Alfie is doing great! He is as good as gold whenever we're out but he has an hours naughty time every evening when he will pick up anything from paper to the TV remote control - never seen anything like it in all my days! He is such a great dog & a fantastic guard dog - any burglar would think twice about breaking in to our house but they don't know that Alfie would lick them to death!! :D We are all so pleased he is here & it really has helped me to come to terms with the loss of my beloved Tulsa. Speak to you again soon.
