Hello and welcome to the forum! Please tell more about your lovely dogs! We're nosey ones here! I'm Lisa and I have a 3 year old Yellow Lab (who could be your lab's double!). We rescued Willow thru LRRSE 2 years ago when she was 1 - she is an Irish girl. We also have an 18 mnth old Black Working Cocker named Finn who is a rascal! Keep in touch! xx

Hi
Dobby was also an irish rescue he was 18mths old when I go him and boy was he trouble!! he was called duke at the time but dobby suits him so much better as if u no the refrence to harry potter and the house elf he is named after u will be aware of the way the house elf does that thing with his ears a speciality of dobby when hes being naughty!! I got him as a friend for sky as she was a very scared little girl and had been very badly treated dobby worked wonders for her and although the world is still quite scarey for her she is so much braver with dobby at her side, Dobby has cost me a fortune from day one my brand new £1200 sofa got eaten one day, but hey never mind a sofa can be replaced and was and fortunately he grew out of munching things, he's also tried drowning himself when he accidently jumped in a sleuce that was pumping out to sea so that was mummy to the rescue, and he has a thing for ripping off his dew claws that i believe is because he is ball obsessed and pounces on them thank goodness for insurance i say, but u can see why i call him my little monster!! he is an excellent boy and i couldnt imagine being without him or the other 2 of course he is definately the man of the house and looks after us girls. And as i write this he's fast asleep acting like butter wouldnt melt!!!!

We seemed to have been very lucky with Willow - she hasn't chewed up anything apart from books or magazines - which I can cope with! Sadly we lost our elderly Black Lab in September - she enjoyed eating the house up for a year or two immensely though! Thankfully, she also grew out of it! She had a cast iron stomach - nothing she ate upset her - bars of fairy soap and wooden furniture - her favourite was the concrete step by the front door - I don't know how many times my dad re-plastered in and replaced the wooden shelf! But we love em eh!

Aah yes the cast iron stomach dobby once sicked up a pile of pebbles from the beach i was gobsmacked to say the least and just stood there staring at them i had no idea he had eaten them but was so grateful they had come out that way.I spent an hour or so reading all the different threads its a fantastic place to chat to people and learn so much and shed a few tears at some of the threads so glad i joined up.

I totally agree. This is pretty much the first place I came to when we lost our Bess. I couldn't speak to anyone but could just type away how I felt because I know that many others here have been through the same.

I love your little 'pack' & their names are great too, but is there any room on your bed or sofa for the grown ups? Ha ha ha......We are owned by a black girl, Kala & Rufous, a red boy who we rescued via LRRSE end of Oct 07..He hasn't really been any trouble with chewing things indoors but was really football & ball obsessed for some time but is beginning to calm down a bit. He can still be rather stubborn as well...As with yourself, we have spent lots of cash at the vets as it turned out he had Hip & Elbow displacia - hey ho!! He is doing ok tho thanks to suppliements and regular exercise although still has some stiffening probs here and there. He's a great boy all in all , aged 4 now and as with your shy girl, he has done wonders for Kala who is just 2. She was a bit of a shy one but has come on leaps and bounds with the help of her new bruver... :P I have posted on general chat about Rufous's current issues (must not call it agression)...it's an owner problem as I understand it  Good luck with your dogs, hope they all stay healthy and don't destroy any more furniture....

Aah yes i was reading about your current plight I think the great thing about this forum is nobody judges you they just cant wait to help you out to make life easier and happier, Plus as soon as you post a problem you soon realise that you are not alone so many of the stories i sat here reading I can relate to and dobby does exactly the same on the lead but not off although he isnt as bad, but the advice is great.
