Baxter and Campbell's journey to Chessington
Today 2 Chocolate Labs were saved from the Pound thanks to LRRSE :D Here is the story of their journey to Chessington and photos http://z10.invisionfree.com/RDR_Forum/index.php?showtopic=1421&st=0&#entry11688677

Thanks for the link. They are really beautiful boys - but what sad, low body language. Yet their faces look gentle and soft despite all the bewildering stuff they must have been going through. . Let's hope they are soon waggy and bouncing about in their forever homes

Hi Guys....just to let you all know that Baxter went to his new mummys home today. He was a very good boy on the journey there, slept on the back seat all the way. He met his new "sister" and oldie terrier cross girl from the oldies club, and another doggy lodger that is staying and got on well with all. His new mum said his tail never stopped wagging all day  He has had a nice bath and a dry off in the sunshine, some good food and plenty of TLC. He will be sleeping in a nice new bed tonight too, so he has definately landed on his paws, bless him. I am going to see him soon so will post more then. His new mummy wants to say a special thanks to all at RDR and all the people involved in transporting him (and Campbell) down to us. Natalie, please will you pass this message back to Coryn. Thanks

Just had this from Baxters new mummy....seems he has settled in already  Baxter is a lovely old boy, he's like a big chocolate bear. He has a big head and his coat was awful. He had a lion like mane round his neck and shoulders of just moulting hair but it's so dry and coarse unlike a labrador. He was very very scurfy and I got loads of hair off him after I gave him a bath in the late afternoon sunshine. He really enjoyed that but he got me as wet as him as he kept shaking and the water flew off him all over me but we had fun!!! After he went off and rolled and rolled on the lawn for a good itch. He is still quite thin, but was wormed this morning and will be off to the vets for a course of vaccinations on monday. His tail hasn't stopped wagging yet and he's got on well with the other dogs. He has an old haematoma on his left ear possibly due to an old injury. He slept in my bedroom last night and I didn't hear a peep out of him. He ignored the dog bed with a sleeping bag in it and decided it was best to sleep on the carpet at the foot of my bed. Mitzi was little bossy but decided it best to accept him sharing her bedroom!! I think he may have been kept outside. He's a wonderful old boy and whoever neglected and starved him, dumped him on the streets to leave him to do 7 days in the dog pound with the threat of being put to sleep, well I would like to do it to them. They have missed out on having a wonderful dog. Many thanks to everyone, LRRSE and Rochdale Dog Rescue who helped him down his path to his forever home. Regards, Pat and Baxter.
