Any reason this should happen? Hi. Whilst out walking a lovely lab I dog walk today, playing ball with chukka. I saw a young girl with her back to us on mobile phone. She had three dogs with her. Two of which live in farm house near by. One of these dogs an Ess came charging up to us all aggressive. Bo (lab I walk) just carried on trying to play, Ess just waded in trying to bite. I said in a loud voice BACK OFF! to this dog several times, and held the chukka in front of me to warn dog off. Young girl then decided to turn round, calling dog who by this time had grabbed Bo at least twice. The girl then said to me, "he's not normally like this" added by sorry. I said maybe she should try keeping the dog under control. I can't understand why if she says this dog is not normally aggresive why it should have a pop. Bo that I walk has not been castrated, as he has a grade 6 heart murmur, but has never been in the least aggressive. Sorry for long post.

Doggy manners....or is it owner? Next time you meet this person just walk straight up to her and disconnect phone from her ear. Then give her an earful on doggy manners and her responsibilities. If she gets violent...point your chukka at her...don't actually hit her...just look fierce.

It could have been because she had three dogs with her- they can devolp pack instincts when all together especially as the girl was obviously to busy on her phone to have any control over the dogs she was walking. If the ess hasnt been castrated either then he could of being trying to assert himself over bo. No excuse really as for the hes not normally like this comment-well ive heard that a thousand times. At the end of the day she shouldnt have been on her phone and she should have been paying more attention.
If you have any more trouble with her it may be worth asking the owners of the other two dogs who she is and whether shes a dog walker or actually owns the dog concerned.im sure if shes the dogs walker and not owner that the owners would be concerned to hear that she busy on her phone when they are paying her to walk their dog not chat.

Thankyou. I was just a bit shocked yesterday when this happened. I guess these things are gonna happen from time to time. I just could'nt understand why this girl just carried on chatting whilst I stood there trying to fend off her dog. I guess I could launch the tennis ball at her next time lol, my aim is getting fairly good these days. Then I'll say oh! sorry it does'nt normally do this.

It's really horrible when this happens - quite frightening. Unfortunately, you will always come accross 'dippy' dog owners!
There's a man in our park with a cross collie called Lucy - all you hear is Lucy- Luccccccy Luccccccccy in such a monotone bland voice - no wonder Lucy is ignoring him - he bores me to death!
