Aloha!!
Hi, I'm Adrian my better half is Mandy and Two daughters aged 13 nd 16 and Jess the cat. I've been waiting 48 years for the right circumstances to have a dog of my own!! Now have someone at home all day and labradors have the right character we feel for the family. We looked at buying a pup after not being able to find a Lab with any local RSPCA centres. Then we found LRRSE. Must admit I was shocked that there are so many Labs looking for a home and even more shocked that some are being put down. Have filled in the form and await a home visit looking forward to giving a Lab a home and love. Hopefu;;y soon will by able to put up apic of our Lab.

Welcome Adrian! I agree, Labs are lovely family pets! We have owned Labs now for 16 years! Our first Lab was black and named Bess. She sadly passed away last year in September at the grand old age of 15 1/2  18 months before she left us, we rescued Willow from LRRSE, she is one of their Irish Labs. Here she is on the day we went to look at her - aged 12 months. and now aged almost 3 - isn't she a beauty! (but then I am biased!) and just so he doesn't feel left out, here's a piccie of a little lad Finn, a Working Cocker - he is just 16 months old Wishing you all the best of luck in your search for the new family member - please keep us updated and post lots and lots of pictures!

Had our house visit tonight. We met the visitors black Lab, Holley, and we all fell in love with her. Visit went very well and we are looking forward to rescuing a dog very soon.

Glad it went so well - keeping my fingers crossed for you. Sometimes I can happen very quickly! We were home checked on the Tuesday, had a call on the Wednesday and Willow was with us by the Monday!

We are so excited. Going to meet a Lab at Chessington tommorrow providing the forecast isn't correct and we dont have a lot of snow. I wont say any more or mention any names as if I have some pics to put up tommorrow that will only be if the dog decides to adopt us!!

Woooohoooooo!! Benny adopted us!! Benny is very thin but extremely lively and friendly. I took him for a walk at the kennels up the road and back and he is very strong. Too strong for the girls at the moment. The car journey was painless as he was good boy for the Two hour journey. Before arriving home we popped into our local pet store and the staff fell in love with him. They fitted him up with a Halti and I took him for a walk before introducing him to the house. The Halti worked fine and he was ok wearing it. Benny woofed down a load of food and water and is now chilled out as I write, in his bed. The cat is not ammused but is out chasing frogs. We are all knackkered now, lol.

Ah bless him!! Congrats on being adopted - hope Benny brings lots of love, cuddles, muddy paws and a big waggy tail into your life. Keep us posted and hope all goes well. Anita

He looks lovely :) Is he a Irish Doggie? Ben's from Ireland, they all seem to pull like steam trains from there  He too wears a Halti.

Deuce- 03-23-2008

Yep he is from Ireland, came in last weekend. He has worn patches on his front elbows which, I believe, means he spent a lot of time out on concrete. He also doesn't know how to climb stairs yet. Have to teach him English!! :)

craskehouse- 03-23-2008

He will soon  ! Ben had lots off scars under his belly like rope marks.Think he was tied up a lot :( It takes them a while to settle, then its like you have always had them.
